International Exchange of Professionals: Thematic Event in Medicine 2026 – Conference Report

The International Exchange of Professionals – Thematic Event in Medicine 2026 was successfully held at the Radisson Blu Park Hotel in Athens, Greece, from April 15 to 17, 2026. The meeting brought together a large international community of experts in a multidisciplinary setting, reinforcing its position as a key global platform for medical exchange and collaboration.

This year’s edition was organised as a cluster of nine parallel congresses, covering a wide spectrum of medical disciplines, including drug discovery, oncology, neurology, cardiology, gynaecology and obstetrics, infectious diseases, orthopaedics, digestive diseases, and oral and dental medicine. The event was hosted by the World High Technology Society and operated by BIT Group, bringing together approximately 300 specialists from 40 countries and regions.

Opening ceremony and scientific programme

The Opening Ceremony and Keynote Forum took place on the morning of April 15, setting the tone for three days of intensive scientific exchange. The forum featured plenary lectures from internationally recognised experts across academia, clinical practice, and biomedical research, including representatives from institutions such as Merck (Germany), the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Maastricht University, Novo Nordisk, the University of Pennsylvania, and the University of Texas Health Science Center.

The sessions were moderated by Prof. Gerhard Litscher, alongside other distinguished contributors, who expressed appreciation to all delegates, speakers, and participants for their engagement and contribution to the success of the event.

Across the three-day programme, both onsite and online participation ensured broad international accessibility, with discussions focusing on current challenges in medicine, emerging research directions, and practical implementation of new approaches in clinical practice.

NESA representation and honorary chairmanship

A key highlight of this year’s congress was the involvement of NESA’s leadership within the event’s organisational and scientific structure. NESA President, Dr. Michael Stark, served as Honorary Chairman of the International Congress of Gynaecology and Obstetrics (ICGO 2026), underscoring his continued contribution to the advancement of minimally invasive and evidence-based approaches in gynaecological surgery.

His role reflects NESA’s ongoing commitment to supporting high-level international collaboration and promoting innovation in surgical practice and education.

Conference scope and participation

The combined programme included more than 40 breakout sessions, over 350 oral presentations, and numerous poster exhibitions showcasing current research and technological developments across multiple medical fields. The event also featured contributions from more than 10 exhibitors, further strengthening the connection between clinical practice, research, and industry innovation.

In total, the congress facilitated networking and knowledge exchange among over 500 participants, creating a comprehensive platform for scientific dialogue and professional collaboration.

Looking ahead

Following positive feedback from delegates and participants, the organisers announced the next edition of the meeting, which will take place in Bucharest, Romania, from June 16 to 18, 2027. The continued growth of this congress series reflects its importance as a long-term platform for interdisciplinary medical exchange.
