The first hospital in France to become NESA's Family Oriented Hospital

The Conti Hospital in L'Isle-Adam in France became the first Family Oriented Hospital in France after successful audit which was approved by the NESA board in May 2019.

New Silk Way

Cooperation agreement was signed between the NESA and Beijing AILUNKAIER Trade Co., Ltd.

Exchange of scientific knowledge between China and Europe will be promoted.

Exchange of physicians between China and hospitals connected to the NESA will be done and scientific conferences for Chinese and NESA's opinion leaders will be organized

Following on from the previous surgical workshops in Senegal and Burkina Faso, a surgical workshop concerning endoscopy, vaginal hysterectomy and caesarean section was carried out by the NESA for seven French-speaking countries in Dakar, Senegal. This time the ISGE participated with the presence of their President, Prof. Van Herendael. The workshop encompassed lectures and live operations. The faculty consisted of NESA members from France, Croatia, Germany, Italy and Russia.

The All African Surgical Database is a project coordinated by NESA and FIGO, with the aim to unify and standardise surgical methods on the continent of Africa.

NESA's first surgical workshop in east Africa took place from the 14th - 17th of December 2018 between two hospitals in Nairobi, the M.P. Shah Hospital and the University Hospital of Nairobi. The activities were supported by the FIGO, Desert Flower Foundation, Mother & Child Group in Moscow, and the ELSAN Hospital Group in France.

The faculty consisted of NESA members from Germany, Israel, Croatia and France. The workshop comprised of lectures and live surgeries. Approximately one hundred participants attended workshops and lectures across both institutions. The workshops were enthusiastically received and the NESA has been invited to continue its activities in east Africa, in cooperation with the University Hospital of Nairobi. East Africa will join the All African Surgical Database project.

International Oncological Advisory Board

For any diagnosed oncological condition, there are various ways of suggested treatment. In order to improve the post-surgical outcome, NESA initiated an International Oncological Advisory Board with opinion leaders in oncological surgery, oncologists and basic scientists from different continents in order to enable dialogue between different specialties and to ensure optimal treatment, specified for the individual patient, based on evidence know-how. The Board serves also as a platform for exchange of knowledge and ideas. \n\n In order to improve the outcome of oncological patients, the NESA, together with MediHelp and MediSky, launched a forum of opinion - leaders in surgery and oncology to provide second opinion to cancer patients, as well as navigation to the most optimal sites. It will allow cancer patients to get the most advanced mode of treatment based on evidence.

NESACard

The NESA, in collaboration with MediHelp, launched the NESACard. NESACard holders are supporting NESA’s activities in countries with limited resources, are entitled for second opinion in case of oncological disease and belong to a support - family for NESA activities.

The participants of the NESA Days 2018 were welcomed in Perugia, Italy. Lectures, life surgeries and stimulating discussions based on the presentation of the cutting-edge research in various fields of medicine took place during three days of the conference 19-21 April.

Family Oriented Hospital: new NESA's approach

In order to enhance the involvement of the family in the birth process, respect to the parturient and her needs as well as the rights of the newborn, NESA initiated the Family Oriented Hospital project. The guidelines for the hospitals are based on the decades of experience in obstetrics, best practices and follow the demand for innovative approach to the family rights, women's and children's safety and interests. Hospitals that accept NESA guidelines, such as presence of the partner during birth or cesarean section, indicated cesarean sections and episiotomies and the utmost respect for the baby, mother and her family, and successfully pass the audit will be bestowed upon with Certificate. The first hospital to join the project from October 2017 was Clinique Conti in L’ Isle - Adam, France

The NESA conducted a surgical workshop in Grozny and Gudermes, Chechnya from December 13-16 with NESA members from Germany, Israel, Russia and Turkey. In each city, live surgeries were performed. \n\n The workshop was well attended by 700 participants and was opened with the participation of the Chechen Health Minister. \n\n The workshop was followed in the local and Russian television networks. Following this workshop, the NESA has already been invited for future workshops in other Republics and in Moscow

VIEZION Project Opening

NESA initiated a new entity called VIEZION in January 2016 in order to improve oncological treatment. The VIEZION project combines treatment with targeted chemotherapy, stem cells and preimplantation factor (PIF) to enhance immunity and includes the updated immunological knowledge in its considerations. The official launch of the project took place in Paris in September 2016.

The NESA Days 2015 included delegates from 44 countries. The main highlights featured the introduction of the first clinical outcome of a new telesurgical system - the Telelap Alf-X, with Haptic sensation, the improvement of post-operative personalized therapy based on the geneitcal evalution of the tumors and the standardization of sugrical methods which enable comparison between different institutions and surgeons.

The NESA Days 2014 took place in Daios Cove, Crete in cooperation with the Association of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Quebec and the Greek Infertility Association. During the conference, the first 146 operations performed with the European telesurgical system, the Telelap Alf-x, at the University of Rome were reported. Novelties in endoscopy and natural orifice surgery were presented and discussed. Delegates from the MIPT University in Moscow awarded professorships to NESA members for their scientific achievements.

The Anti-C-section campaign

The NESA is starting the New Year with an anti-C-section campaign. We strongly believe that, like any other operation, there should be a valid indication for performing Caesarean sections. Unfortunately, the Caesarean section rate is increasing at an extreme rate, for which there is no justification.

Preventive medicine as a new NESA discipline

The NESA launched a medical university named the 3H Medical University (Honora Honore Humanae – respect human dignity), which is based on centres of excellence. In November 2009, the First Academic Board Planning Meeting took place in Berlin. Delegates from 12 countries participated in the meeting. On 27 March, 2014 the Founders' Committee and the Curriculum Committee met in Berlin and approved the curriculum framework and the plans for further development.

Aqueduct - A new cervical dilator

A new type of cervical dilator, the Aqueduct was examined clinically through the NESA. This is a device which dilates the cervical canal in a radial way within minutes and enables any kind of diagnostic or operative procedure. The device seems to be non - invasive and works similar to Laminaria, but within a very short time. The NESA initiated prospective studies in different affiliated departments.

1st FIGO Africa Regional Conference of Gynecology and Obstetrics

Following our activities in Africa, the NESA was invited to participate in the **1st FIGO Africa Regional Conference of Gynecology and Obstetrics**, which was held from 2 to 5 October 2013 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Following the successful 2011 surgical and ultrasound course in Senegal, the NESA, in cooperation with FIGO and MedicalAidFilms,conducted a similar course in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.Between 12 and 17 June 2012, lectures and practical application were done at the Yalgado Ouedragogo hospital.Some 40 gynaecologists from Burkina Faso participated. Basic ultrasound was taught and optimal methods for vaginal hysterectomy and caesarean section were introduced.
