Prof. Dr. med. Dr. h.c. Jalid Sehouli is a gynaecologic oncologist, researcher, and professor of gynaecology at Charité University Hospital in Berlin. He currently serves as President of the European Society of Gynaecological Oncology (ESGO).
Prof. Sehouli is Medical Director of the Department of Gynaecology with the Centre for Oncological Surgery at Charité, where he also leads the European Competence Centre for Ovarian Cancer and the Interdisciplinary Gynaecological Cancer Center. His clinical and scientific work focuses on ovarian, peritoneal, and fallopian tube cancers, with particular emphasis on innovative surgical techniques, translational research, and improving patient-centered outcomes.
He has authored hundreds of peer-reviewed scientific publications, led numerous international clinical trials in gynaecologic oncology, and is actively involved in several global research collaborations and professional societies. In addition to his scientific work, he is committed to patient advocacy, global women’s health initiatives, and interdisciplinary dialogue between medicine, culture, and society.
